The purpose for this post is simply an awareness of what is being discussed about this date.
To me, the most likely scenario is simply the most plausible - that these events are coincidental. A close second likely scenario is the possibility that the world governments simply don't know what exactly may happen, and are covering their bases.
Either way, below are some links to what is being discussed about November 9 and some of the interesting 'coincidences' occurring on this date.
This first article is the most 'mainstream' and represents (hopefully) the most reasonable explanation:
Asteroid YU55 To Narrowly Miss Earth
An asteroid a quarter-mile-wide will, astronomically speaking, narrowly miss Earth next week.
And while it is the closest an asteroid this size has come to the home planet since 1976, there's no need to call Bruce Willis ... yet.
"There is no chance that this object will collide with the Earth or moon," Don Yeomans, the manager of NASA's Near Earth Object Program office, told Reuters.
At its closest point, the space rock will be about 201,700 miles (324,600 kilometers) away, which is 0.85 the distance between the moon and the Earth. NASA says that the asteroid will reach this point at 6:28 p.m. EST on Tuesday.
An asteroid this size -- which, according to Scientific American is larger than an aircraft carrier -- would cause widespread damage if it were to hit Earth, however. The Associated Press spoke to Jay Melosh, a professor of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Purdue University, who said that the asteroid would create a four-mile wide crater 1,700 feet deep. It could cause 70-foot tsunami waves and shake the ground like a magnitude-7 earthquake.
Even though the asteroid will be inside the orbit of the moon, NASA said that the space rock's gravitational pull shouldn't have any "detectable effect" on Earth's tectonic plates or tides.
However, below we see some more in-depth articles, articles which have led to so many 'conspiracy theories" regarding what may be happening behind the scenes:
NASA Downgrades Condition Code of Asteroid YU55 - Unsure of Trajectory
NASA tracks and has been tracking all near earth objects (NEO’s) and the data is reflected on NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab’s (JPL’s) website.
What is interesting is the NEO object designated 2005 YU55 has now has had a change in the ”condition code” in JPL’s data.
Condition codes are on a scale of 1-9 and are used to determine the accuracy of the known or calculated flight path.
The higher the number (lets use 9 as an example) would mean that NASA is very unsure of the path the object might fly or deviate to — a zero would be a for sure calculation.
For the past few months the condition code of 2005 YU55 has been “0″ (zero), which meant a for sure miss of the moon and planet.
As of now the condition code has been downgraded to a 2 — meaning that after calculating the gravitational effects of the moon and earth on 2005YU55 NASA is unsure what the outcome might be — or at least publicly.
Also of interest, is the coincidence that November 9th is the same date for a country-wide "communications shutdown" while we get a test of the emergency response system.
November 9th Communications Shutdown
In what is obviously a muscle flexing exercise meant to show the public just how much power and control the federal government really has, all communications will be cut off for an estimated three minutes on November 9th, 2011.
Claiming this is a test of the emergency response system, the terror alert system, and any other excuse they can come up with, Fema (that would be the same FEMA in charge of those camps they deny exist) will conduct a complete communications shutdown: all TV, radio, internet, and phone systems will be disabled simultaneously. This will be at 1:00 CST.
If this were a test to make sure the system was intact in the event of an emergency I could understand it. But that isn’t what this is.
This is a test meant to ensure that the apparatus is in place and operational in the event the government wants to prevent communication between citizens: this is a test to make sure they CAN shut it all down if they choose to.
We have long since passed the point where we can trust government on any level. This impending communications shut down is only a test run for something far more serious.
This is not about public safety, emergency response or any of the other fluff and hype put out to try and explain why the government would engage in such a test. In my opinion, this is merely a test run for a future event which could be catastrophic as far as the general public is concerned.

Wednesday’s drill marked a significant development for the ability of countries in the Indian Ocean region to detect and respond to earthquakes and tsunamis. Stuart Weinstein, the deputy director of the United States’ Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii says the warning centers participating in the drill in Indonesia, India and Australia did not exist before the 2004 Tsunami that killed more than 200,000 people in 12 countries.
Does this system test have anything to do with the passing of the massive continent killer asteroid 2005 YU55 that will pass very close to earth possibly striking or dragging debris with it on November 9, 2011, in conjunction with the FEMA/FCC takeover drill?

NOTE: I’ve never created such a blog that regarded an “End of the World as We Know It” scenario before. And that’s because I’ve never seen anything like this before in terms of so many correlations connecting world events.

On November 9, 2011 the Asteroid 2005 YU55 will pass between the Moon and the Earth. Yu55 is a rather large asteroid, about the size of a Soccer field (or Aircraft Carrier). Officially there is not supposed to be any real danger but a few strange things are co-incidentally happening at about the same time.
A huge military/FEMA event is happening in the Pacific Ocean. It’s called, Exercise Pacific Wave.
On the 9th 10th and 11th of November Pacific Countries will act out how they would respond to earthquakes, tsunamis and other catastrophic events.
Add to this the fact that 5 planets are going to be in alignment, and the new Asteroid will pass through the tail of Comet Elenin and you have a major Conspiracy event.

Just coincidence?
Are all these 5 events, happening on November 8 or November 9, or both of these dates, of 2011, just a coincidence? Are you aware of what happened the last time the planets were in alignment? Do you know what happened the last time FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) planned an emergency situation scenario drill? Did you know that there has never been a national shutdown of all TV and radio communications?

Asteroid YU55 "unpredictable"
Although, the most likely explanation is the idea that these various events listed for November 9th are indeed simply coincidental, the following represents the basis of the various 'conspiracy' ideas:
Summary
The fact that all of these events are happening on November 9, 2011, indicates that something significant is going to happen.
For starters, you have an asteroid, the size of the Rose Bowl (football stadium) that is going to pass very closely to the earth. Although NASA mentioned that there is little risk of it hitting the earth, their risk assessment has now changed to that of a “potentially hazardous object”.
Secondly, you have a Pacific Tsunami Drill alert happening on the very same day, November 9, 2011, that an asteroid is scheduled to do a flyby of earth.
Thirdly, you have FEMA, a corrupt government organization, along with the FCC, and other government agencies, shutting down all radio and all TV communication at 2pm for an EAS (Emergency Alert System) test.

3. NASA Changes Condition Code: Unsure of Trajectory of YU55 Asteroid
Is NASA trying to tell us something about the YU55 asteroid?
According to an article at The Intel Hub, NASA tracks Near Earth Objects (NEOs), then puts its findings at their Jet Propulsion Lab Website.
Recently, NASA changed the condition code, used to determine the accuracy of the flight path or trajectory, of near earth object asteroid YU55. For the past few months, the condition code was a zero, meaning an absolute miss of the moon and the earth.
Now, however, the condition code is a 2, meaning that, due to the effects of the gravitational pull of the moon and of the earth, NASA is unsure of the trajectory of asteroid YU55.

On November 9, 2011, there are 3 significant events happening that, to my knowledge, have never happened before. These events include an asteroid, the size of a football stadium, passing near earth, a takeover or shutdown of all radio & tv communication at 2pm by FEMA, in conjunction with the FCC, and Exercise Pacific Wave, a tsunami drill planned for the Pacific Ocean.
The bottom line?
Who knows. This is something else to watch, and we'll have our answer soon, as November 9th is just a few days away.
