US Secretary of State Kerry: Today's World Is 'Safer Than Ever'

IJReview: John Kerry Insists the World is ‘Safer Than Ever’ But Not All US Intelligence Officials Agree

WNU Editor: The White House is backing US Secretary of State Kerry's comments .... Earnest to Ed Henry: John Kerry Had "Evidence On His Side" When He Said World Is Safer (Real Clear Politics). Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has a different opinion .... Intel chief says 2014 deadliest year for terror ever recorded, in counter to upbeat Kerry (FOX News). My take is the following .... "He said what!!!!!"

Barack Obama’s Secret Terrorist-Tracking System, By The Numbers -- By Jeremy Scahill and Ryan Devereaux, The Intercept

Nearly half of the people on the U.S. government’s widely shared database of terrorist suspects are not connected to any known terrorist group, according to classified government documents obtained by The Intercept.

Of the 680,000 people caught up in the government’s Terrorist Screening Database—a watchlist of “known or suspected terrorists” that is shared with local law enforcement agencies, private contractors, and foreign governments—more than 40 percent are described by the government as having “no recognized terrorist group affiliation.” That category—280,000 people—dwarfs the number of watchlisted people suspected of ties to al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah combined.

My Comment: Wow .... that is a lot of terrorists and/or terrorist sympathizers to watch.
