White House Sends More Officials To Michael Brown’s Funeral Than Thatcher’s, And None For Beheaded Journalist James Foley

More White House Officials At Michael Brown’s Funeral Than Thatcher’s -- FOX News

The White House sent three officials to attend Monday's funeral for Michael Brown in St. Louis -- three more than it sent for former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's funeral last year.

The administration's handling of the Brown funeral already has started to raise comparisons between the two.

For Monday's funeral, the White House sent two officials with the White House Office of Public Engagement as well as Broderick Johnson, chairman of the My Brother's Keeper Task Force.

Update: Obama Sent No Representative to Memorial Mass for Beheaded Journalist James Foley -- CNS

My Comment: President Obama and his administration are clueless .... completely clueless. And the Islamic State .... who closely studies how we respond to events .... are taking note that this White House is telling the world that they do not want to be seen as someone who wants to antagonize the Islamic State.

They Have To Blame Someone

As World Boils, Fingers Point Obama’s Way -- Peter Baker, New York Times

WASHINGTON — In this summer of global tumult, the debate in Washington essentially boils down to two opposite positions: It is all President Obama’s fault, according to his critics; no, it is not, according to his supporters, because these are events beyond his control.

Americans often think of their president as an all-powerful figure who can command the tides of history — and presidents have encouraged this image over the years because the perception itself can be a form of power. But as his critics have made the case that Mr. Obama’s mistakes have fueled the turmoil in places like Syria, Iraq and Ukraine, the president has increasingly argued that his power to shape these seismic forces is actually limited.

“Apparently,” he said in frustration the other day, “people have forgotten that America, as the most powerful country on earth, still does not control everything around the world.”

My Comment: Getting blame for the problems of the world is one of the job requirements/responsibilities of being the occupant in the White House .... but my main beef is that it is only is now that the press (after almost 6 years) is finally pointing fingers.

If Iraq Falls The World Will Blame President Obama

The World Will Blame President Obama If Iraq Falls -- George E. Condon Jr., National Journal

The White House is under intense pressure to use American force to save the people trapped by terrorists on the mountaintop. And it understands why.

The world will not blame the Iraqi government if the children and women huddled atop Mount Sinjar in northern Iraq die of hunger and exposure. Nor will Pope Francis blame Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki if the Islamic extremists attacking the country slaughter the 40,000 Christians and other minorities who have fled to the mountaintop. The fact is that the world, from the pontiff in the Vatican to the coal miner in West Virginia, will blame President Obama.

That is why the president found himself under such intense pressure to act on Thursday, facing calls from around the world to marshal American might in a way to both rush humanitarian aid to the refugees in Iraq and punish the forces of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) who are trying to kill them.

My Comment: There will be a lot of blame to pass around .... but when it comes to U.S. politics .... the critics of President Obama's Iraq policy are going to make sure that he will be blamed for this .... doubly so if what replaces Iraq is The Islamic State. As to who would I blame .... I blame everyone .... Maliki, the Saudis, the Iranians, everyone ..... but especially the entire Washington establishment.
