Mossad Documents Contradict Israel PM's Iran Bomb Claim

The Guardian: Leaked cables show Netanyahu’s Iran bomb claim contradicted by Mossad

Gulf between Israeli secret service and PM revealed in documents shared with the Guardian along with other secrets including CIA bids to contact Hamas

Binyamin Netanyahu’s dramatic declaration to world leaders in 2012 that Iran was about a year away from making a nuclear bomb was contradicted by his own secret service, according to a top-secret Mossad document.

It is part of a cache of hundreds of dossiers, files and cables from the world’s major intelligence services – one of the biggest spy leaks in recent times.

JNS: Israel’s Steinitz says Iran not compromising on 7 of 8 nuclear issues

(Israel Hayom/Exclusive to JNS.org) Iran is refusing to compromise on seven out of the eight key points in its nuclear negotiations with the P5+1 powers, Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Yuval Steinitz said Thursday.

Steinitz said that if the two sides are indeed close to reaching a deal, it means the West will be conceding on a number of central issues. According to Steinitz, the eight key points on the agenda in the nuclear talks include the number of active centrifuges, reducing the uranium stockpile, dismantling infrastructure, research and development of advanced centrifuges, the Arak heavy-water reactor, the Fordow enrichment facility, ballistic missile development and militarization of the nuclear program, and the duration of the nuclear agreement.

Update: Are Israel and Hizbollah on the brink of war? -- Raphael D. Marcus, King's College London/The Telegraph

WNU Editor: Questions and speculations on why a top Iranian General was with Hezbollah fighters in the Syrian Golan Heights are going to be debated among pundits/Israeli Generals/and observers for the short term (I personally believe that they were there to coordinate operations against Syrian rebels and not to attack Israel). But the outcome of this strike is now predictable, heightened tensions and a need for Hezbollah/Iran to retaliate. My prediction .... if it was not for the Syrian civil war and Hezbollah's deep involvement in it .... they would be launching mortar and missile strikes against northern Israel right now. But because they are involved in Syria's bloody and brutal civil war, and they are facing growing resentment within Lebanon itself .... I expect Hezbollah to hold back from any major strike .... for now. As for what Iran may do .... they are also in a quandary. The war against the Islamic State and supporting Syrian President Assad is their primary military focus right now .... not launching retaliatory raids against Israel. But they will have to respond to maintain their credibility among their supporters in the region ... so expect something in the days/weeks/months ahead.

The Revolutionary Guards said Gen Allah-Dadi had been killed while defending the people of Syria

BBC: Iran general died in 'Israeli strike' in Syrian Golan

WNU Editor: Apparently this General was coordinating Iran's support of the Assad regime in the Syrian civil war .... so his lost is a hist for Iran/Hezbollah/and the Syrian regime. There are also conflicting reports that 6 Iranian soldiers were also killed along with the 6 Hezbollah officials. It would not surprise me if this report is true .... I am sure that this Iranian General had a contingent of Iranian bodyguards, especially if he was traveling in what has been a war-zone since the start of the Syrian civil war. Report: Israel Reconsiders Military Action Against Iran

Exclusive: Cornered But Unbound By Nuclear Pact, Israel Reconsiders Military Action Against Iran -- Jerusalem Post

Israeli official cites "sunset clause" in proposed comprehensive deal, which guarantees Iran a path into the nuclear club and may corner Israel into war.

WASHINGTON – Historic negotiations with Iran will reach an inflection point on Monday, as world powers seek to clinch a comprehensive deal that will, to their satisfaction, end concerns over the nature of its vast, decade-old nuclear program.

But reflecting on the deal under discussion with The Jerusalem Post on the eve of the deadline, Israel has issued a stark, public warning to its allies with a clear argument: Current proposals guarantee the perpetuation of a crisis, backing Israel into a corner from which military force against Iran provides the only logical exit.

Iranian General Threatens Surprise Attack on Israel -- Washington Free Beacon

IRGC general: Iran 'will not give a diplomatic response'

Iranian military leaders on Tuesday vowed that Tehran would take military action against Israel in response to an alleged Israeli drone that was shot down in Iran on Sunday.

Iran “will not give a diplomatic response,” but will air its grievances with Israel on the “battlefield,” senior Iranian generals were quoted as saying on Tuesday.

“Our response to this aggression will not be diplomatic, we will retaliate in the battlefield, but will not necessarily announce it,” Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the Lieutenant Commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) was quoted as saying during a ceremony on Tuesday meant to commemorate “martyred” Iranian military personnel.

Tehran pledges to "accelerate" arming Palestinians in West Bank after airing footage of 'Israeli drone' it claims to have shot down over Iran.

Tehran will "accelerate" arming Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in retaliation for Israel deploying a spy drone over Iran, which was shot down, a military commander said on Monday.

"We will accelerate the arming of the West Bank and we reserve the right to give any response," said General Amir-Ali Hajizadeh, commander of aerial forces of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards, in a statement on their official website sepahnews.com.

The warning comes a day after the Guards said they had brought down an Israeli stealth drone above the Natanz uranium enrichment site in the centre of the country.

Iran Says It Shot Down Israeli Drone Over Its Natanz Nuclaer Plant

Israeli Spy Drone Downed Near Iran’s Natanz Nuclear Plant – Report -- RT

Iran says their Revolutionary Guards have shot down an Israeli spy drone trying to penetrate the "nuclear off-limits area" of the Natanz nuclear site, the ISNA news agency reported.

"The downed aircraft was of the stealth, radar-evasive type and it intended to penetrate the off-limit nuclear area in Natanz... but was targeted by a ground-to-air missile before it managed to enter the area," ISNA said, citing a statement by the Revolutionary Guards.

Iran's forces fired a missile at the drone as it neared its uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, more than 300 kilometers south of Tehran.

The statement did not say when the drone was downed, nor did it elaborate on how the Guards knew the drone was from Israel.
