At least 6 dead, 25 hurt in terror attacks
At least six people were reported dead and at least 25 injured in a three-stage terrorist attack along Israel’s border with Egypt on Thursday, which began when terrorists opened fire at an Egged bus traveling on Road 12 near Eilat.
Several minutes later, a number of bombs went off next to an IDF patrol traveling along the border with Egypt. There were also reports of mortar fire from Egypt into Israel. The terrorists apparently then moved on to another spot and fired an anti-tank missile at another vehicle, injuring a number of passengers.
Magen David Adom said that terrorists attacked a bus and a private vehicle 20 kilometers north of the site of the first incident. Paramedics said five people there were mortally wounded in that attack.
IDF strikes Gaza in response to attacks
The IDF attacked terror targets in Rafah in the Gaza Strip on Thursday, in response to a three-stage terrorist attack which killed seven Israelis and wounded dozens in the South earlier in the day.
Six Palestinians were killed in the joint IDF and Shin Bet strike.
Among those killed was the chief of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), Kamal al-Nairab. The five others that were killed were also members of the terrorist faction .

Netanyahu: We respond immediately and powerfully to attacks
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday responded to terror attacks in the South that killed seven and wounded dozens more, saying, "Those who think Israel will accept attacks on its citizens is wrong."
Since that time, there have been additional attacks in what appears to be a major turning point in increasing violence in the region:
33 Wounded in Terror Attacks on 2 Buses Near Eilat
A second Israeli vehicle was targeted early Thursday afternoon by unidentified terrorists who apparently fired a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) that scored a direct hit on the road to Eilat. At least five passengers were critically wounded in the attack. Magen David Adom medics on site continue to treat the casualties who are fighting for their lives.
Yoseftal Medical Center in Eilat currently reports that 33 casualties were admitted to the center. Of those, however, five were subsequently flown to Soroka Medical Center by helicopter for advanced treatment.
The attack occurred less than an hour after a terrorist cell ambushed a bus on Route 12 to the Red Sea resort city, aiming automatic gunfire at the vehicle and wounding seven passengers. Highway 12 connects Ovdat Air Force base and Ovdat airport with Eilat. The airport and the base are adjacent to each other.

Additional shooting attack north of Eilat, one injured
An additional shooting attack took place Thursday evening north of Eilat, in which one person was injured. Army forces, police and ambulances were seen rushing toward the location of the attack and IDF helicopters were hovering overhead.
IDF forces were still searching the area around Eilat and the Egyptian border out of concern that there may be terrorists still in the area. Sources said that it is possible that there were as many 20 terrorist in the area, both in Israel and on the Egyptian side of the border.
There were also reports of mortar fire from Egypt into Israel. The terrorists apparently then moved on to another spot and fired an anti-tank missile at another vehicle, injuring a number of passengers.
UN Evacuates Gaza After Attacks Fearing Israeli Response
According to reports the United Nations decided Thursday to evacuate its foreign personnel from Gaza following the deadly string of terror attacks that rocked Israel's south.
The three successive attacks on buses in Israel's south left at least six dead and 33 wounded – including two women and two small children – prompting international speculation a muscular Israeli response is in the works.

Terror continues: Two gravely hurt by fresh gunfire hours after deadly attacks
Two people were critically wounded Thursday evening when gunfire erupted close to the site of a deadly series of terror attacks earlier in the day in which seven people had been killed.
The gunfire began during a press conference by Defense Minister Ehud Barak and IDF chief Benny Gantz, at the scene of the attacks.

IDF: Grad Intercepted Near Ashkelon
The Iron Dome anti-missile system is believed to have intercepted a Grad missile that terrorists fired at Ashkelon Thursday evening, IDF Spokesman "Poli" Mordechai said.
He also said that terrorists may have fired an anti-tank missile at an IDF helicopter as well.
Another gunfire incident took place on the Israel-Egypt border Thursday evening. One person, apparently an IDF soldier, was reported seriously wounded.

Yes, that is correct. Hamas "praises" the attacks that killed innocent civilians, injured 33 people, including young children - all just going about their daily lives. Unfortunately they are Jewish and therefore, according to Hamas, deserve to die.
The Islamist Hamas movement on Thursday welcomed a series of deadly attacks in southern Israel earlier in the day
"I don't think Hamas is behind these attacks, but we praise them since they were against soldiers," said Ahmed Yousef, a senior member of the organization, which has been in power in Gaza since seizing control in 2007.

Erekat "Warns" Israel After Day of Lethal Attacks
Palestinian Authority chief negotiator Saeb Erekat on Thursday took full advantage of the lethal terror attacks in Israel not to extend his condolences, but to issue a warning.
"Israel stands warned of any possible aggressive action or collective punishment measures against the Palestinian population in Gaza," Erekat said in a statement after the attacks that left 7 Israelis dead and 33 more wounded.
This isn't unexpected. For decades, Israel has been expected to continue giving away their land, creating indefensible borders, and continue pouring money into the same region that continually launches rockets into their land along with terrorist attacks against their citizens.
Pretty much business as usual really.
