And guess what? As usual, it somehow has to do with Israel, as with everything else these days - just as the prophetic scriptures would indicate.
On the eve of his first trip to the United States as Egypt’s new Islamist president, Mohamed Morsi said the United States needed to fundamentally change its approach to the Arab world, showing greater respect for its values and helping build a Palestinian state, if it hoped to overcome decades of pent-up anger.
He praised Mr. Obama for moving “decisively and quickly” to support the Arab Spring revolutions, and he said he believed that Americans supported “the right of the people of the region to enjoy the same freedoms that Americans have.”
But he also argued that Americans “have a special responsibility” for the Palestinians because the United States had signed the 1978 Camp David accord. The agreement called for the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the West Bank and Gaza to make way for full Palestinian self-rule.
He made no apologies for his roots in the Brotherhood, the insular religious revival group that was Mr. Mubarak’s main opposition and now dominates Egyptian politics.
“I grew up with the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said. “I learned my principles in the Muslim Brotherhood. I learned how to love my country with the Muslim Brotherhood. I learned politics with the Brotherhood. I was a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
Egypt’s president on Saturday stressed the need for his country to have a bigger role in international affairs, using his first local television interview to express support for the Palestinian bid for statehood...he said that “there cannot be peace in the Middle East without giving Palestinians their full rights.”
“Egyptians are always and will always be supportive of their Palestinian brothers, all Palestinians,” he said. Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, is itself an offshoot of Morsi’s Muslim Brotherhood group, which has long rallied for Palestinian statehood.
Morsi has launched an “Islamic Quartet” of regional powers to seek an end to the violence, bringing together Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
The armed forces of Syria and Jordan clashed Saturday after Syria fired into Jordanian territory, where thousands of refugees have fled from an 18-month-long civil war between the Bashar Assad regime and opposition fighters.
According to a report by Al Jazeera, the Syrian army has moved its Unit 61 brigade — whose main function is to block any possible attack from Israel — from the Golan Heights to the Jordanian border.
In recent months, attacks by the Syrian military on the border region with Jordan have intensified, as part of an effort to stem the flow of refugees into the neighboring kingdom.
Syrian activists said rebels and government troops fought a fierce battle in the area, that lasted for several hours, overnight Friday.
The activists said the fighting in and around the Syrian border town of Nasib continued until dawn Saturday.
As speculation mounts that Israel could launch air strikes on Iran before U.S. elections in November, Mohammad Ali Jafari told a news conference that the Jewish state would be destroyed if it took such a step.
"Their threats only prove that their enmity with Islam and the revolution is serious, and eventually this enmity will lead to physical conflict," Jafari said when asked about Israeli threats to strike Iran's nuclear facilities, the Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA) reported.
"We are making all efforts to increase our defensive capabilities so that if there is an attack ... we could defend ourselves and other countries that need our help with high defensive capabilities."
Eternally controversial Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in New York City and will make his final address as president to the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly—a visit that comes at a particularly tense time for US-Middle Eastern relations.
The Tehran Times reports that 100 people will accompany the Iranian president to New York City, and that many more were denied visas to join him.
Ahmadinejad has never been known for his tact at United Nations conclaves: in November of 2011, he prompted walkouts when he delivered a blistering speech criticizing Zionists and the veracity of both September 11 and the Holocaust. Perhaps unsurprisingly, protesters are ready and waiting for Ahmadinejad's arrival in New York City, reports the Wall Street Journal, and will be attempting to infiltrate the posh Warwick Hotel where he usually stays while in the United States.
That would be 140 visas allowing entry for officials and affiliates of a regime under UN and U.S. sanctions — a nuclear-bomb-seeking regime implicated just last fall in an alleged terror plot to murder the Saudi ambassador to the U.S. by bombing a restaurant in Washington, D.C.; a regime whose terror-based rule, networks and ambitions violate the UN’s own charter and threaten America and America’s allies.
That’s 140 visas for a regime that continues to dodge sanctions with shifting, globe-girdling networks of front companies and illicit procurement operations for its missile and nuclear programs. Presumably, U.S. authorities — at considerable expense to U.S. taxpayers — will not only protect Ahmadinejad and his retinue while they are in New York, but also keep an eye on the doings of members of this massive Tehran roadshow, while they enjoy the amenities of Manhattan.
Even beyond the costs of security and surveillance, such U.S. kow-towing to Iran’s visa demands allows Iran to saturate the UN summit with Iranian officials, and sends Iran the message that it is welcome to exploit access to the UN. Further abuse of such access is sure to follow, especially with Iran serving these next three years as head of the 120-member Non-Aligned Movement, which includes well over half the members of the UN General Assembly.
And speaking of continuing takeover of the world by a few not so good banks, a loud warning that the advent of globalist influences (i.e., bankers) is taking over Europe and that the "destruction of Europe's democracy is in its final phase" comes not from some European (or American... or Zimbabwean) fringe blog, but from the 71 year old president of the Czech Republic, someone who certainly knows about the difference between communism and democracy, Vaclav Klaus.
In an interview with The Sunday Telegraph, "Václav Klaus warns that "two-faced" politicians, including the Conservatives, have opened the door to an EU superstate by giving up on democracy, in a flight from accountability and responsibility to their voters. "We need to think about how to restore our statehood and our sovereignty. That is impossible in a federation. The EU should move in an opposite direction," he said."
Speaking in Hradcany Castle, a complex of majestic buildings that soars above Prague, and is a symbol of Czech national identity, Mr Klaus described Mr Barroso's call for a federation, quickly followed by the German-led intervention, as an important turning point.
These last paragraphs are worth reading more than once because it reveals where we are headed and where we are headed is exactly in line with biblical prophecy:
Even more ironic than the return of corporation-controlled statism under the guise of socialism, will be the return of fascism, whose neo-variants are already exhibiting themselves in countries like Greece. But more on that in a few months, when other European countries get sick and tired of the banker oligarchy and realize that there is really no party that represents the people in a world in which democracy is merely a mirage. And so, once again, the most horrific aspects of humankind history will repeat themselves, only this time with far more potent and destructive weapons to enforce one's ideological superiority, or in this case to preserve an global equity tranche where the legacy wealth is preserved, and which in any normal parallel universe would have long since been wiped out. Just as soon as the "Democratic" emperor is exposed as having no clothes by more than just those who still are not afraid to tell the truth.
This one comes from Joel Rosenberg:
Does anyone in Washington get how serious this is? We are on the road to fiscal implosion. “Sunday will mark the start of the 100-day countdown to ‘Taxmageddon’ – the date the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect,” reports Americans For Tax Reform. ”They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves on January 1, 2013.” Here’s a list of the tax increases scheduled to be imposed if President Obama and Congress don’t take action quickly.
This weekend, I’ll do a 2-hour “Implosion Radio Special” with Janet Parshall. We’ll discuss the economic & spiritual threats to America. We’ll also discuss possible war between Israel and Iran. The special will air on 1,500 radio stations, some live, some tape-delayed. Details will be posted soon at www.joelrosenberg.com. Updates will be posted regularly. Join us.
Can Barack leap factories in a single bound or defuse nuclear warheads with only his laser-like psyche? While breathless devotees believe so, the legend of the “world’s greatest leader” is actually an established trope within Marxist movements. In fact, it’s necessary such propaganda be presented by such movements to establish credibility.
Why? First, because leftist countries are typically in dire straights, needing great men to work superb feats of statecraft. Second, since these movements defy religion and all traditional political theory, they therefore present an ominous level of novelty. Here, an incredible captain is needed to steer such a new machine. Third, humanism is the essence of such movements, the leader must be the best of all people. And to have a superman-as-president makes not just perfect sense, but also maximizes the potential of such ideology. Finally, such movements have all the trappings of religion, offering a role for a new anti-religious pope.
Only one true Marxist revolution occurred in history, bringing Mao Zedong to power in China, becoming the greatest murderer in history. Mao was presented as godlike (much like Obama in 2007), the father of incredible feats. His miracles were presented to individuals increasingly traumatized by epic and utterly stupid government decision-making, ending up eliminating 77 million souls. (Mao’s bio: Who was Chairman Mao, Lionized by Obama’s White House?) Obama, too, was presented as a messianic political miracle-worker. And now, like all previous Marxist “messiahs,” Barack is exposed as utterly incapable of the simplest feats of leadership.
The State Department contends that the assassination of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the three American officials who defended him was an unplanned, spur-of-the-moment reaction to a low-budget film called Innocence of Muslims. That is nothing more than a fairytale lullaby designed to put American outrage to sleep. The only reaction to this fantasy seems to have been among the Muslim terrorist leaders, who understand it as a go-ahead to attack our embassies all around the world with impunity. Our embassy in Pakistan is now under siege. Thousands of other “angry” Muslims are now screaming “Death to America” and burning American flags in front of our embassies in Egypt, Indonesia, Sudan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Tunisia, Yemen, Germany, and Great Britain, to mention just a few.
During the years I spent at the top of the Soviet bloc intelligence community I unfortunately came to know many tyrants quite well, and I learned for a fact that they despise appeasers. In April 1978, President Jimmy Carter hailed Romania’s communist tyrant Nicolae Ceausescu as a “great national and international leader.” I was standing next to the two of them at the White House, and I could hardly believe my ears. A few hours later, I was in the car with Ceausescu, driving away from the White House. He took a bottle of alcohol and splashed it all over his face, in reaction to having been affectionately kissed by the U.S. president in the Oval Office. “Peanut-head,” Ceausescu muttered in disgust.
At least there was some good news in the mix today:
According to CBN News, he was imprisoned and charged with apostasy, a crime punishable by death in Iran.A report on a CBN blog “The Global Lane,” encouraged readers to continue praying for Nadarkhani and his family. The blog read in part, “They still face danger from militant Muslims and/or government agents who may want to kill them because of Youcef’s evangelistic effort
Nadarkhani said God’s goodness and protection was overwhelmingly evident during his imprisonment.
He added, “I also want to express my gratitude towards those who, all around the world, have worked for my cause, or should I say the cause that I defend. I want to express my gratitude to all of those who have supported me, openly or in complete secrecy. You are all very dear to my heart. May the Lord bless you and give you His perfect and sovereign Grace.”
Nadarkhani said while he had been tested, he had never felt lonely.
Nadarkhani said while imprisoned God comforted his family and gave them the ability to get through the difficult time.
He said, “He has comforted my family and has given them the means to face that difficult situation. In His Grace, He provided for their spiritual and material needs, taking away from me a heavy weight.”
Nadarkhani said God provided wonderfully during the trial, allowing him to face the challenges ahead.
Nadarkhani continued, “I want to express a prayer for the establishment of an unending and universal peace, so that the will of the Father be done on earth as it is in heaven. Indeed, everything passes, but the Word of God, source of all peace, will last eternally.
