The statue of Daniel 2 reveals the 4 gentile kingdoms that would rule over Israel from the time of Babylonian captivity, and it was revealed that there would be four such kingdoms which we now know to be: The Babylonian Empire, the Medo-Persian Empire, the Greek Empire and the Roman Empire.
We also know that the last empire, the Roman Empire would have to be in existence at the time of Christ's return (Daniel 2:44-45, 7:26-27). Therefore, the Roman Empire would somehow have to be revived and come back together at the time of Christ's return.
We also know that the last empire, the Roman Empire would have to be in existence at the time of Christ's return (Daniel 2:44-45, 7:26-27). Therefore, the Roman Empire would somehow have to be revived and come back together at the time of Christ's return.
We receive additional information from the statue of Daniel 2:40-43, where we see an evolution of the Roman Empire. At the time of Jesus' birth and life we see the vision of the Roman Empire given as iron - which was represented by the legs of the statue - iron which would "break and smash everything - as as iron breaks things to pieces so it will crush and break all the others." This description is a fitting description of the original Roman Empire and its rule over the various territories.
However, Daniel 2:41-43 also reveals that there would be a transformation, and the Roman Empire in existence at the time of the Second Coming would be quite different, as seen in the feet and toes of the statue:
"Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay."
This seems an appropriate description of today's version of the EU in a number of ways. Does this "mixture" and inability to remain united refer to the contrast between Roman Catholicism and Islam? Does this mixture refer to the weak economic countries united with the stronger economies within the EU - as playing out on a daily basis now? There are a number of ways that one can see this "mixture" within the EU today.
Additionally, we know from Daniel 7:24 that the revived Roman Empire would morph into a "10 kings" phase which would, in turn, produce the antichrist:
"The ten horns are the ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings. He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and laws. The saints will be handed over to him for a time, times and half a time."
And we see similar wording in Revelation 17:
"The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They will have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings - and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."
So what do we have here?
In summary, as prophecy watchers, we should expect that in the last generation, we would see the Roman Empire be revived, and indeed we have with the EU and the Mediterranean Union. Additionally, we know that the EU will morph into 10 kings and rule the planet with the antichrist - a rule which will engage in severe persecution of Jews and Christians during the Tribulation.
Therefore, we should expect to see the beginnings of EU anti-semitism and anti-Christianity. Indeed we are, but there is more to this story and it becomes quite interesting.
All of the above was triggered by a brief article and the picture contained within:
Of course we know that the "pre-'67" borders are almost indefensible and would place Israel in a very precarious position. Especially now, with radical Islam taking over the surrounding areas with a vow to eliminate Israel completely.
European Union foreign ministers strongly stated that all of the body’s agreements with Israel only applied to the pre-1967 lines, as they spoke out on Monday against Israeli settlement plans including the development of E1.
A diplomatic source told The Jerusalem Post that he feared some of the language in the council statement was placed there to lay the groundwork for labelling and possibly banning settlement products in the future.
The EU said all of its agreements with Israel “must unequivocally and explicitly indicate their inapplicability to the territories occupied by Israel in 1967, namely the Golan Heights; the West Bank, including east Jerusalem; and the Gaza Strip.”
The EU in its statement said it was “deeply dismayed by and strongly opposes Israeli plans to expand settlements in the West Bank, including in east Jerusalem, and in particular plans to develop the E1 area,” it said.
E1 is located just outside of Jerusalem, on an unbuilt tract of land within the Ma’aleh Adumim settlement.
Building up E1, the council warned, would “undermine the prospects of a negotiated resolution of the conflict by jeopardizing the possibility of a contiguous and viable Palestinian state and of Jerusalem as the future capital of two states. It could also entail forced transfer of civilian population.”
And so it begins.
The EU is attempting to divide Israel, divide Jerusalem, take away Golan and its military significance from Israel - all of which would place Israel in a helpless situation, not to mention acting in direct defiance to God's commands.
But a closer look at that article reveals the photograph of the EU's parliament building. Notice anything unusual?
As shocking as it sounds, it is true. The EU actually built this building to serve as a representation of the Tower of Babel. On purpose. By intent. Talk about telegraphing your moves.
The links below provide some excellent pictures and commentary on this situation:

The logic behind this symbolism is the the EU is seeking to "build the house of Europe" - a task yet to be completed. The building is complete and in use, but is designed to look unfinished, and even has ringed platforms around it to represent scaffolding. The building is complete and in use, but is designed to look unfinished, and even has ringed platforms around it to represent scaffolding. When asked by a secular journalist ‘The Tower of Babel was mans first attempt to form a system to exault itself, a complete foreshadow of a one world system on the horizon with a leader in the likes of Nimrod. Why the Tower of Babel?’ an EU official replied, ‘What they failed to complete 3000 years ago – we in Europe will finish now.’
We see the people of Europe rebuilding the Tower of Babel. Here’s some points to note: First, we have a confirmation that the Louise Weiss building was truly inspired by the Tower of Babel. The poster recreated the exact tower on Pieter Brueghel’s painting, even making sure to include the broken part of the foundation. There is NO question there.
Second, the slogan: “Europe: Many Tongues One Voice” refers to God confusing the people with many languages. The Parliament will effectively reverse God’s punishment to teach a lesson concerning idolatry and arrogance. Third, look closely at the stars at the top. Do they look strange? They are upside down aka reversed pentagrams. The symbolism behind pentagrams is extremely deep and complex but we can say that a regular pentagram refers to “Good Ruling” and a reverse pentagram refers to “Evil Ruling”.
But that isn't all. So we can already see how one of the main symbols of the EU, their parliament building proudly proclaims that it desires to reverse what God did to the original Tower of Babel, and now, could rebuild this building and the very concepts that God opposed.
We have another symbol in play within the EU, but first to the pertinent scriptures:
And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. ---Rev 17:1-6
The Apostle Paul informed us that the intertwined world government and religion of the Tribulation would be like this woman on the beast.
That takes us to the EU's second main symbol:
2002 2 Euro coin1996 5 Euro coin1992 German ECU coinEuropean stamp1948 German 5 mark noteGerman phone cardCover of May 2000 Der Spiegel MagazineTime Magazine's article on United Europe contained the aboveSculpture outside the Council of Ministers Office in Brussels, Belgium
As you can see, the depiction of a woman riding the beast figures prominently in the EU symbolism, the most dramatic being the large statue which sits in front of the EU's most powerful group's building - the EU Council building in Brussels.
We have been informed in advance. We have been told what to watch for. Let us not forget the introduction to the book of Revelation:
"Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it because the time is near" (Revelation 1:3).
Amen.
