Here It Comes Again

Once again, we are hearing the calls from the PA for a return to the 1967 borders around Israel. This is code for the dividing of Jerusalem as that remains the prize in these so-called "negotiations". This has been the repeated mantra for years.

PA pushing Quartet to recognize 1967 borders

The Palestinian Authority is working hard to convince the Quartet to issue a statement after its upcoming meeting in which it recognizes the two-state solution on the basis of the 1967 borders, Chief PLO negotiator Saeb Erekat said on Thursday.

Ok, wait for it....Its coming, and it only took two sentences in this particular article to get to it:

“Such a declaration must include recognition of east Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine and finding a just solution to the case of the Palestinian refugees on the basis of UN resolution 194,” Erekat said.

“We can’t talk about a Palestinian state that does not exist on the borders of June 4, 1967 and that does not include east Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine. Also, the entire West Bank and Gaza Strip must be one geographical unit.”

This leads to the rather obvious question (one that I ask frequently, but never ever receive an answer):

If the coveted 1967 borders is all that is needed for peace in the region ---> Then why was the war fought in 1967 when those borders were already in existence?

Good luck on getting an answer to that one.

No, this answer will not be forthcoming. Its supernatural and the prophet Zechariah already informed us that this would be the case, because ultimately, its all about Jerusalem:

"I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves." (Zechariah 12:2-4).
