Converging Signs

If you look around at the news recently you can easily see the various generational signs in play. Although the focus has been on the Middle East and wars and rumors of war - especially in the context of Ezekiel 38-39 and the scenario involving Isaiah 17 - one can also see many other signs in play. Consider just a couple of days of news stories and how they relate to our "birth pain" signs:

Pestilence:

According to a new report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), at least 2 million people in the United States develop serious bacterial infections that are resistant to one or more types of antibiotics each year, and at least 23,000 die from the infections.
"For organism after organism, we're seeing this steady increase in resistance rates," Dr Thomas Frieden, director of the CDC, said in a telephone interview. "We don't have new drugs about to come out of the pipeline. If and when we get new drugs, unless we do a better job of protecting them, we'll lose those, also."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has just published a first-of-its-kind assessmentof the threat the country faces from antibiotic-resistant organisms, ranking them by the number of illnesses and deaths they cause each year and outlining urgent steps that need to be taken to roll back the trend.
The agency’s overall — and, it stressed, conservative — assessment of the problem:
  • Each year, in the U.S., 2,049,442 illnesses caused by bacteria and fungi that are resistant to at least some classes of antibiotics;
  • Each year, out of those illnesses, 23,000 deaths;
  • Because of those illnesses and deaths, $20 billion each year in additional healthcare spending;
  • And beyond the direct healthcare costs, an additional $35 billion lost to society in foregone productivity.
“If we are not careful, we will soon be in a post-antibiotic era,” Dr. Tom Frieden, the CDC’s director, said in a media briefing. “And for some patients and for some microbes, we are already there.”

Persecution:

They Will Be The Most Hunted People On The Planet

It is becoming apparent that Christians, and American Christians, in particular, will soon become the most hunted people on the face of the earth. The coming persecution will make the Romans persecution of the Christians seem tame compared to what is coming. DHS policies and their subsequent actions have become an effective barometer from which to judge the direction of the tyrannical takeover of our government by the central bankers and what it will ultimately mean for Christians.

DHS is lining itself up against Christians. The Army is lining up against Christians. Obama has always been against Christians. As Supreme Commander of the military, Obama has encouraged/permitted the United States military to participate in the persecution of Christians
A recent Army briefing, given by Lt. Col. Jack Rich, to a reserve unit in Pennsylvania, identified several organizations and movements as extremist groups.  First on the list of his slides presented in the briefing listed evangelical Christians and the list also included Catholics, Hamas, al-Qaeda, Nation of Islam and the Ku Klux Klan. Isn’t it comforting to realize that your government sees Catholic and evangelical Christians in the same light as Hamas, al-Qaeda and the Klan?
Lt. Col. Rich warned his subordinates to not back down from “bad Christian behavior” for “when they see behaviors which are inconsistent with Army values, don’t just walk by. Do the right thing before it becomes a problem.” What exactly constitutes “bad Christian behavior?” Is praying a bad Christian behavior?
Further, the warning has been given to flag Christians and put them on no buy lists for guns. Rich’s briefing dovetails with the same kind of anti-Christian rhetoric recently presented to Colorado law enforcement officials in La Junta, Colorado in which Christians were prominently displayed in as domestic terrorists if they take the Bible too literally. Of course Christians take the Bible literally, this is why Christians read and study the Bible. The word of God is not a comic book, it is the Bible. And as such, all Christians have just been declared to be enemies of the state. Below is a screen shot of a page out of Rich’s anti-Christian PowerPoint presentation. Please note the repeated references to various types of Christians. Interestingly, I did not see the official religion of the United Nations, GAIA, listed as a domestic terror group.

Look at the last item on the list, “Islamaphobia.” Isn’t it telling that “Christianphobia” is not listed as an area of concern thus, making it clear that the government only sees Christians as the problem and never the potential victim. This is precisely the point. At the risk of beating a dead horse, your central banker hijacked government has just told you that you Christians are an identified enemy of the state. You Christians are not an enemy of the state because you might plant an IED in a public place. You Christians are not an enemy of the state because you support terrorism. You Christians are an enemy of the state, because you are Christians and you possess spiritual weapons which could dismantle the entire New World Order.

For leftists in Europe and their Muslim and Arab communities, there is sharp divergence on pretty much all public policy except one: that Israel is a horrible villain, the world's worst and most dangerous country, and is behaving today like the Nazis.  It is a country that deserves to die.  The Nazi analogy is not accidental, since it provides an opportunity for Europeans to argue that they have really learned the lessons of the Holocaust, and will oppose behavior today  by those who resemble the Nazis with their tactics and policies. It takes very little for the modern Europeans to cleanse their consciences for their nations' collaboration with or passivity during the mass murder in their midst last century.

The intellectual and media elites in America are becoming more influential, though not quite to the level in Europe, and hostility to Israel is one of their core beliefs.  Given the large majority support for Israel versus the Palestinian among Americans, the elites see themselves as leading the change that will make this nation's policies more like those of Europe, our social better.
Gerstenfeld's book is a signal of how ugly it has gotten across the pond for Jews and Israel supporters.  There may be no Jewish future in Europe, but in America, knowledge of how the world's oldest hate has come roaring back in Europe is a lesson on how it must be resisted in the one country that has truly been exceptional in this regard.
The most meaningful test today is support for Israel, not fighting alleged Klan members in Northern Idaho and fake hate crime perpetrators at Oberlin College.  Hatred of Israel has become the principal weapon for Jew haters abroad.  Friends of Israel have their work cut out for themselves there, and here as well.

Creeping totalitarianism:

The innocuously sounding ‘Media Shield Law,’ also referred to as a bill to provide the free flow of information to the public, is not what it is presented to be. It is an integral plank of the Progressives and Globalists who have been advancing the Communist agenda for decades, using it to ultimately seek control under global governance.

The bill, should it become law, will have a chilling effect on free speech, especially any negative discourse against the people in power, their policies and plans. Everyone needs to pay very close attention to this bill and take a stand to assure its defeat.

Instead of offering legal protections to journalists and their confidential sources who expose governmental corruption, this law will provide the ‘legal’ means long sought by the Executive branch to instead compel journalists to identify their sources based on a fluid and arbitrary definition of national security and the narrow ‘definition’ of a journalist. It is a direct attack on the First Amendment and a stealth attack against political dissidence. It is a stepping stone to the reimplementation of the Fairness Doctrine and a step toward controlling the information accessible on the internet.

You don’t have to believe me, though. Instead, let the words of David Rockefeller, talking at the June, 1991 Bilderberger meeting in Baden, Germany speak for themselves:

“We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years.”
“It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto determination practiced in past centuries.”
Don’t fall for this Trojan Horse

Wars and rumors of war:

Russia’s UN representative says the newly unveiled report on the chemical attack of August 21 in Syria offers no “bulletproof data or conclusions” on who ordered it. The US and UK say the study confirms the regime was behind the attack.
“The report is diligent but very technical. It avoids categorical judgments and inferences, and it needs to be studied,” Vitaly Churkin told the Russian media at the UN headquarters in New York.
“As people examine it, everyone can draw their own conclusion, but I hope that won’t be driven by political motives.”

 UN inspectors said Monday there is “clear and convincing evidence” that chemical weapons were used on a relatively large scale in an attack last month in Syria that killed hundreds of people.

The findings (click here to read the full report) represent the first official confirmation by scientific experts that chemical weapons were used in Syria’s civil war, but the report left the key question of who launched the attack unanswered.

As a sign of possible difficulties ahead, Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov sparred Monday over possible military action if Syria doesn’t abandon its chemical weapons.
And in Geneva, the chairman of a UN war crimes panel said it is investigating 14 suspected chemical attacks in Syria, dramatically escalating the stakes. Paulo Sergio Pinheiro said the panel had not pinpointed the chemical used or who is responsible.
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon presented the UN inspectors’ report to a closed meeting of the UN Security Council before its release.

The Russian naval presence in the Mediterranean Sea will be boosted by another military vessel till the end of September, according to the country’s Black Sea Fleet command.
The large landing ship, Yamal, is set to depart from the port of Sevastopol, Ukraine by the end of the month to join the 10 vessels Russia already has in Mediterranean waters.

“The Yamal’s crew has completed preparations for relocation to the Mediterranean Sea,” Captain Vyacheslav Trukhachev, the Black Sea Fleet information chief told ITAR-TASS news agency. “As part of the preparatory period, the ship has performed several drive outs, which included target practice on sea and land.”

Russia began military build-up in the Mediterranean in 2012, establishing a constant presence in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea since December last year.

On May 1, all of the country’s battleships operating in the area were assigned to a single task force under special offshore maritime zone operation command.

Currently there are ten Russian warships deployed in the Mediterranean: large landing ships 'Aleksandr Shabalin’, ‘Admiral Nevelskoy’, ‘Peresvet’, ‘Novocherkassk’, ‘Minsk’ and ‘Nikolay Fylchenkov’; large anti-submarine ship ‘Admiral Panteleyev’; escort vessel ‘Neustrashimy’; guard patrol ship ‘Smetlivy’ and guided-missile cruiser ‘Moskva’.

Russia will reopen a military base in the New Siberian Islands, an Arctic archipelago north of Yakutia, to secure control of the strategic region, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday.

Putin said Russia “will not only reinstate the military base in this area, but will also restore the airfield and allow for collaborative work with representatives of the Emergency Situations Ministry, hydrologists and climate experts to ensure security and efficient operation of the Northern Sea Route."
Under international law, the Arctic belongs to no single country, but the huge area is strategically important for northern hemisphere countries and is believed to contain huge quantities of hydrocarbons and other minerals.
Russia's Defense Ministry said Saturday that the arrival of a Russian naval task force at the New Siberian Islands signaled the return of a permanent Russian military presence in the Arctic Region.

“Two days ago, a naval task force from the Northern Fleet began major exercises around the New Siberian Islands. We arrived there, or, more accurately, we have returned there forever,” Deputy Defense Minister Arkady Bakhin said after a meeting chaired by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.
