Sunday In The News:

PM Netanyahu: 'Europe Undermines The Negotiations'

Israeli PM puts the 'peace negotiations' in perspective. First he referenced the EU:

"We were aware that such initiatives were moving up the bureaucratic echelon. And it doesn't make sense politically, especially at this time. Israel should not be made to fix its final borders by decree. The only way to fix these borders is through bilateral negotiations.

We were attacked from these borders and our lives were at stake before 1967.

These borders have changed dramatically in 40 years - there are hundreds of thousands of Israelis in neighborhoods of Jerusalem that would be carved into two - you'd create a Berlin Wall in the center of Jerusalem, an economic and political Berlin Wall.

And Iran:

Judge Iran by Whether it actually abides by the conditions set forward by the international community: Stop all enrichment of uranium; remove the uranium that has already been enriched; shut down the illegal nuclear facility in Qom; and cease work on plutonium production...

But after the election what we see is that Iran continues on its path of high enrichment. Continues to install advanced centrifuges that can cut the time to what is called the break-out, creating material that is suitable for a bomb. And, like we now learned, it is developing ICBMs, intercontinental ballistic missiles that can reach the United States within a few years. This is what has been revealed after the elections. There is no sign whatsoever of any letup in the Iranian nuclear program and I am sure Rohani will suggest a policy of talk and enrich. That's his policy, that's his claim to fame. I have seen no evidence to the contrary.

[As stated before - the EU is falling right in line with our expectations based upon biblical prophecy]

According to Bible prophecy, leaders in Europe will seek to impose a dangerous, ill-considered, unworkable “peace treaty” on Israel in the last days. It may be too soon to say we are there yet, but there is no question European leaders are turning increasingly anti-Israel and seeking to impose a final status agreement on the Jewish and Palestinian people.

Here is the latest example: On the eve of new Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, the European Union has made a sweeping and highly aggressive move to use its legal and financial muscle to force Israel to divide its capital city of Jerusalem and  abandon all of its activities in the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria, commonly known these days as the “West Bank” of the Jordan River.

Specifically, the EU barring all of its 28 member countries from doing any business or any other activity with any Israeli company, NGO, college, school or other entity that operate in East Jerusalem or the West Bank. There is grave concern among Israelis that this could effectively become a boycott or a full embargo against any Israeli company that is based in “Israel-proper” but has a factory or offices or affiliates that operate in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. If so, this could have a devastating financial consequence given the level of business Israel currently does with Europe.

It is one thing to defend the right of the Palestinian people to have full autonomy and govern their own daily affairs. I wholeheartedly support and defend that right, as well. But the EU is trying to impose a final agreement on Israel and the Jewish people in defiance of international law and their own previously stated policies. The EU move is wrong-headed, reveals Europe’s increasingly anti-Israel attitude, and should make Israeli leaders wary about any EU involvement in the peace process.

Syria’s young Christian women are bearing the biggest brunt of the two-year-old civil war, according to a human rights group.

Open Doors spokesman Jerry Dykstra told WND that a disproportionate number of the casualties are young Christian women and girls.
“The fact is there have been reports of rape of women and girls in Christian communities of Syria. In some of the areas, students stay home from school and church. One report said 5,000 children 16 and below have been killed in the war,” Dykstra said.
International Christian Concern’s Middle East area specialist Todd Daniels says that non-Muslim Christian women are the target of a fatwa, a religious instruction under Islam.

International Christian Union President Joseph Hakim believes that the Syrian civil war is being used as a pretext for getting rid of Christians.
He told WND the Christians are being forced out of their native cities, towns and villages.
“I feel that I am being accurate in calling what is happening genocide,” he said.
“The bloodletting in Syria is simply finishing off the work that was left behind by the Ottoman Turks.”

When Egyptians contemplate the abysmal failure of the Obama administration’s policies toward their country, they picture the face of the hapless American envoy to Egypt.

U.S. Ambassador Anne W. Patterson, who has shamefully collaborated with the theocratic totalitarians of the Muslim Brotherhood, has continued to stand by Egypt’s Islamofascists even as they bring their nation ever closer to civil war. The Brotherhood refuses to accept the military-led ouster of its leader Mohammed Morsi as that nation’s president a fortnight ago. Its supporters are spilling blood in the streets as they target members of the armed forces, police, and their political opposition in an effort to restore Israel-hating Morsi to power.

Patterson is helping the Muslim Brotherhood. A week ago shereportedly threatened Supreme Council of the Armed Forces chief Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The envoy demanded that the general order the release of all Brotherhood members being detained for questioning and warned that failing to do so could lead to civil war.

As Raymond Ibrahim notes, millions of Egyptians consider Patterson to be the Muslim Brotherhood’s “stooge.” Egyptian politician Mustafa Bakari opined that the ambassador “is a member of the sleeper cells of the Brotherhood, likely recruited by Essam al-Erian or Muhammad al-Baltagi.”

Today, Patterson appears to be a career diplomat following the orders given to her. Of course they’re  stupid, dangerous orders, calculated to undermine Israel’s security and advance Islamism, a cause near and dear to the heart of President Barack Hussein Obama. Few of Obama’s critics have forgotten that the chief executive isn’t terribly convincing when he professes his belief in Christianity. He can ably recite the Muslim call to prayer, which he calls “one of the prettiest sounds on Earth at sunset,” in Arabic with an impressive native-sounding accent.
Obama’s official representative, Anne Patterson, will be held accountable, in this life or the next, as the Egyptians might say.

Why do millions of Egyptians, including politicians and activists, consider Anne Patterson, the U.S. ambassador to Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood’s “stooge”—as she is so commonly referred to by many in Egypt, from the media down to the street?

Such blatantly pro-Muslim Brotherhood actions are what have led most Egyptians, including politicians and activists, to see Patterson as the Brotherhood’s lackey.  In fact, one Egyptian politician, Mustafa Bakari, concluded that “in my opinion, she [Patterson] is a member of the sleeper cells of the Brotherhood, likely recruited by Essam al-Erian or Muhammad al-Baltagi.”

Then of course, it is widely known that in the days leading to the June 30 Revolution, Patterson called on Egyptians not to protest—including by meeting with the Coptic Pope and asking him specifically to urge the nation’s Christian minority not to oppose the Brotherhood, even though Christians were naturally the most to suffer under Morsi, especially in the context of accusations of  “blasphemy,” and are the most to suffer now, in retaliation to the Brotherhood’s toppling.

In the former Soviet Union, the joke was “They pretend to pay us and we pretend to work.” It took over four decades of the Cold War to finally put an end to the lie that Communism as an economic system works. After the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the Soviet Union came to an end on December 25, 1991. By then Communism worldwide had killed hundreds of millions of people.

Now, it is true that America is not a Communist nation, but by doggedly pursuing the theories put forth by Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, as well as the historically failed theories of Keynes, a British economist who believed that the government must pump money into the economy to keep it afloat, Obama has been trying to turn our Capitalist economy into a Communist one,

Calling our economy “Communist” may seem unduly harsh, but under Obama and his predecessors, the government is in charge of thebanking sector, the health andinsurance industries, General Motors was nationalized, the government is deeply involved in mortgage lending and now controls student loans. Now stand back and ask if the government—the State—is not now more Communist than Capitalist?

In addition to bad economic policies, the government is going all-out to impose thousands of new regulations on all aspects of the economy and our lives. Historian Niall Ferguson, writing in a June edition of The Wall Street Journal, cited the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Clyde Wayne Crews’ annual survey of the federal regulatory state, noting that “the 2012 Federal Register—the official directory of regulation—today runs to 78,961 pages. Back in 1986 it was 44,812 pages. In 1936, it was just 2,620.”

This is national death by regulation strangulation and the President recently unleashed the Environmental Protection Agency even more by declaring “climate change” is a top priority. The EPA is in the process of killing coal-fired plants responsible for just under 50% of all the electricity we use. It wants to increase the amount of ethanol in our gasoline, damaging our auto’s engines at the same time it reduces the mileage they produce.

So, if you think we are still functioning in a free market economy, it is as great an illusion as was Communism in the former Soviet Union. When it was no longer defensible, that nation collapsed and was replaced by a truncated former empire, the Russian federation.

If the United States should face total financial collapse, there will be no real freedom left anywhere in the world. Just as any true Communist would want.

Ron Paul wrote this scathing assessment and prediction about the newly created DHS eleven years ago. He was outraged by the $3 billion price tag. The DHS 2014 budget is $60 billion. Were his warnings about the American people being spied on by our government accurate? Are you safer today than you were in 2002? Do you have more or less liberty and freedom than you had in 2002? Was it worth it?

Congress spent just a few short hours last week voting to create the biggest new federal bureaucracy since World War II, not that the media or even most members of Congress paid much attention to the process. Yet our most basic freedoms as Americans – privacy in our homes, persons, and possessions; confidentiality in our financial and medical affairs; openness in our conversations, telephone, and internet use; unfettered travel; indeed the basic freedom not to be monitored as we go through our daily lives – have been dramatically changed. The last time Congress attempted a similarly ambitious reorganization of the government was with the creation of the Department of Defense in 1947. Back then, congressional hearings on the matter lasted two years before President Truman finally signed legislation. Even after this lengthy deliberation, however, organizational problems with the new department lasted more than 40 years! What do we expect from a huge bureaucracy conceived virtually overnight, by a Congress that didn’t even read the bill that creates it? Surely more deliberation was appropriate before establishing a giant new federal agency with 170,000 employees!

The list of dangerous and unconstitutional powers granted to the new Homeland Security department is lengthy. Warrantless searches, forced vaccinations of whole communities, federal neighborhood snitch programs, federal information databases, and a sinister new “Information Awareness Office” at the Pentagon that uses military intelligence to spy on domestic citizens are just a few of the troubling aspects of the new legislation
