Escalation? Lebanese Media: Israeli Air Strike Causes Explosion

This story comes first from the Jerusalem Post:

Lebanese media outlets reported on Sunday night the Israel Air Force (IAF) caused a large explosion in southern Lebanon with an air strike east of Tyre. According to Sky News, IAF planes were seen flying in Lebanese air space around the time of the explosion.
The reports follow days of so-called IAF "mock raids" over Lebanese air space, according to Lebanese news sites.
Lebanon's official National News Agency reported at the time that an explosion was heard in villages east of Tyre, although they added that the cause of the explosion was unknown.

Voicing the fears of the Israeli government over the transfer of unconventional weaponry, the sources said: "The main target was a shipment of weapons in a convoy, potentially headed to the wrong kinds of people,” the Post quoted one senior US military official, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the incident, as saying.

A blast went off in southern Lebanon, near the city of Tyre, late on Sunday night, Al-Arabiya reported, based on local media sources.

The blast reportedly occurred after anelectronic device exploded in the area.
The Lebanese Future TV network said that an “Israeli aircraft might have detonated an electronic transmission device” in the southern area of al-Fawwar.

“Hizbullah has cordoned off the area,” Future TV added.
The official Lebanese NNA news agency claimed that “Israeli aircraft did not leave the Lebanese airspace over the South all through the day.”

Reports of the explosion in Tyre come several hours after Lebanese media reported that Israeli war planes were spotted in the skies above southern Lebanon.
It appeared the pilots were rehearsing attacks on targets in the region, local sources told media outlets.
