Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Cairo on Tuesday, marking the first visit of an Iranian president to Egypt in over thirty years.

Ahmadinejad, who is the first Iranian president to visit Egypt since the 1979 Iranian revolution ruptured diplomatic ties between the two countries, will attend an Organization of Islamic Cooperationconference in Cairo and will hold talks with Egyptian officials during his three-day visit, Iranian media reported.

The Iranian leader expressed his desire to also visit Gaza during his trip.
"If they allow it, I would go to Gaza to visit the people”, Ahmadinejad said in aninterview on the Al Mayadeen news channel, as quoted by Al-Arabiya.
According to Al-Arabiya, Ahmadinejad’s remarks were unclear, as he did not specify whose authority he would seek, and because Iran does not recognize the legitimacy or authority of the State of Israel.
Morsi gave Ahmadinejad a red-carpet welcome on the tarmac at Cairo airport, shaking the Iranian’s hand and exchanging a kiss on each cheek as a military honor guard stood at attention.
The two leaders then held a 20-minute talk that focused on the civil war in Syria, security officials said. Iran is a close ally of the regime in Damascus, while Egypt is among those that have called on Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down. The discussions were attended by the Egyptian president’s adviser, Essam al-Haddad, his spokesman Yasser Ali and a high level diplomat, the officials said on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
Ahmadinejad’s three-day visit is the latest sign of improved relations between Sunni power Egypt and the Shiite power since the 2011 uprising that ousted longtime Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and brought an Islamist-run government to power in Cairo.
The trip is likely to be closely watched by Sunni Gulf nations, chief among them Saudi Arabia, who is staunchly opposed to Iran’s regional policies and deeply wary of the Shiite nation.
Iran and Egypt, both regional heavyweights, once had strong ties. Diplomatic relations deteriorated after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran and Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel. Relations remained cold until Egypt’s 2011 uprising.
“I will try to pave the ground for developing co-operation between Iran and Egypt,” Ahmadinejad said before the trip, according to an Al Jazeera report, adding that his visit would ”definitely influence the bilateral ties” between the two countries.
“If Tehran and Cairo see more eye-to-eye on regional and international issues, many [issues] will change,” Ahmadinejad said.
The country has enriched more than seven tons of uranium to a low grade of five per cent, pure enough for a nuclear reactor, which with further enrichment could create five atom bombs, the Institute for National Security Studies, a think-tank with close government ties, said.
"They have all the ingredients necessary to make a nuclear bomb," said Major General (ret) Amos Yadlin, the institute's director, who recently retired as head of military intelligence for the Israeli Defence Force.
"The main challenge for 2013 will be for Israel to decide when is the time to do something."
A confidential Justice Department memo concludes that the U.S. government can order the killing of American citizens if they are believed to be “senior operational leaders” of al-Qaida or “an associated force” — even if there is no intelligence indicating they are engaged in an active plot to attack the U.S.

The secrecy surrounding such strikes is fast emerging as a central issue in this week’s hearing of White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan, a key architect of the drone campaign, to be CIA director.
Over the past few years, I and many others in the Bay Area have been fighting against a plan that will socially re-engineer our lives referred to as the One Bay Area Plan. Private property outside of city and county urban limit lines will be highly restricted and/or off limits as part of the first ever statewide re-wilding and corridor system in California is created. The crazy thing is no one seems to know about it. Bay Area residents and taxpayers have been kept out of the process. Most have never heard of the regional unelected bodies pushing these plans or the legislation we are now being asked to follow, but all will be affected by it in some way in the near future.
Although I will be focusing on the regional plan in the Bay Area, this is happening all over the state and country under different names, so don’t feel left out. I have done thousands of hours of research over the past few years and discovered the genesis of these plans and who is behind it. I am hoping that by providing the historical timeline and links to back up my findings that it will be clear that these plans are not being pushed by the people of the Bay Area, the local municipalities or by state level mandates. These plans were hatched long before the state legislation was enacted by a small group of NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organizations), stakeholders, foundations and regional unelected bodies funded with tax payer money.

Commentary ... The Age of Neo-Feudalism: A Government of the Rich, by the Rich, and for the Corporations ... The pomp and circumstance of the presidential inauguration has died down. Members of Congress have taken their seats on Capitol Hill, and Barack Obama has reclaimed his seat in the White House. The circus of the presidential election has become a faint memory. The long months of debates, rallies, and political advertisements have slipped from our consciousness. Now we are left with the feeling that nothing has really changed, nor will it ... Then there are the laws constructed for the elite, which allow bankers who crash the economy to walk free. They're the laws which allow police officers to avoid prosecution when they strip search non-violent criminals, or taser pregnant women on the side of the road, or pepper spray peaceful protestors. These are the laws of the new age we are entering, an age of neo-feudalism, in which corporate-state rulers dominate the rest of us, where the elite create the laws which can result in a person being jailed for possessing marijuana while bankers that launder money for drug cartels walk free. The REASON to create the modern nation-state is because the top power elites hide behind it, controlling society and economics and their will via mercantilism, the secret exercise of public rule to abet private interests. Modern citizens work for THEM even though they don't realize it. And they are not supposed to realize it.
If we project this nation-state rule far enough, we begin to see the emergence of true neo-feudalism where a tiny group of globally recognized leaders run the world.
Right now they are still not entirely revealing themselves. But in the end game, as National Socialism changes into full-fledged leader-based feudalism, we will begin to see the outlines of the world's new masters. We can see traces already, probably sooner than intended – thanks to what we call the Internet Reformation.
It is the Internet that has finally allowed us to make sense of the modern world and to realize that all of modern history, Western history, is nothing more than a kind of promotion for world government. We can see, vaguely, who the actors are and how they are directed.
For this reason, we were pleased to see the analysis of "neo-feudalism" by Whitehead.
The media circus leading up to the elections, the name calling in the halls of Congress, the vitriol and barbs traded back and forth among people who are supposed to be working together to improve the country, are all components of the game set up by those who run the show. The movers and shakers behind these engaging, but ultimately trite, political exercises are the elite, the so-called upper class, who benefit from the status quo. This status quo is marked by an economic crisis with no end in sight, by the slow but steady growth of a police state aimed at the lowest rungs of society, and a political circus which keeps us enraptured long enough that we don't question what's really going on.
