Today's topic: "Americans with Disabilities Act." On the surface, it seems like this law is a noble and fair idea, only on the surface. Once you start scratching a little bit, you will notice that it is not what it appears to be. Steve Lonegan (guest on the show) summed it up perfectly: "ADA is a compulsive compassion coerced by the government." It took me a while for this phrase to sink in and I think, I completely agree with it. If we want to follow our Constitution, there is no place in America to create a "protective" class of people. We are all equal under the law. The show is split into six segments: 1) Debating the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). 2) Protecting the disabled? 3) Overlawyered by the ADA? 4) Audience has its say. 5) "Protecting" workers? 6) Stossel's perspective.
